About the Event

The event is facilitated by local expert and resident, Ed Brooks, who is also the Yancey School Community Center Program Coordinator and member of Preservation Piedmont's Board of Directors.  The driving portion of the tour will include the Woodville Bed and Breakfast, and old town Esmont, with a stop at the post office to hear from local historian Peggy Denby.  We will then tour the new Simpson park trail system and the Yancey School Community Center and Garden.  The event will end with an ice cream social at the Yancey School Community Center -- let us know if you have any favorite flavors!

Logistical Details:

1) Carpool if you can to minimize the number of vehicles for the driving portion of the tour.

2) We will meet at the Yancey School Community Center (address: 7625 Porters Rd Esmont, VA 22937), and our local experts will lead the way from there by vehicle.   Depending on the number of cars, we may carpool from Yancey for the driving portion of the tour.
